Nasa is amazing in my opinion, for the fact that we are able to travel to a completely other place! (I don't mean like going to mexico, like another planet). It amazed me by some of the technology that they have, and the rockets are so cool. I learned that the rocket as they are launching can get very hot so to keep the astronauts safe they have to have insilation to keep them cool and calm. I didn't know that rockets are very heavy. While you are lifting off there is pressure pushing all over the rocket. Astronauts really feel the pressure going into space from the rocket pushing them, I would imagine that they have to take years of training practice to be able to handle it.
What was the biggest learning for me?
The biggest learning for me was learning about the planet I did on my space report, Neptune. Neptune was very fun and exciting to learn about, Typing up my space report was a ton of fun because in that time that I typed my space report I memorized most of the facts about Neptune. I thought my favourite planet was Uranus but Neptune is way more interesting like for the fact that Neptune is the fourth biggest gas giant and the second largest ice giant, behind Uranus. Things I learned about space: The sun is the biggest star in our solar system, it gives all the planets light and some planets heat. Gravity is the thing that keeps us on the ground. The gravity on planets other than the earth can be very different. There are 8 planets and 6 out of 8 have moons. Earth is a rocky planet or a terrestrial planet. There is an asteroid belt in between Mars and Jupiter Facts about my planet Neptune: Neptune has a blue colour that comes from the atmosphere made of nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Neptune is the 4th biggest planet and is third in mass. Neptune is the farthest planet from the sun and Neptune is the second biggest Ice giant and the fourth largest gas giant. Neptune has a hurricane similar to Jupiter's red spot, well except it's blue and much smaller. I learned about how Neptune accually has 6 dust rings around the planet made of dust and small pebbles. Thank you for reading! Did you know that Neptune`s first moon was discovered 17 days after the planet was discovered! My space report will be on the planet Neptune. Neptune has a lot of cool things to learn about so let's jump right in!Did you know one day on Neptune is 16 hours and 6 minutes, that surprised me because Neptune`s year is 165 earth years! Wow, we wouldn`t even make it to our first birthday! Neptune is 4.498 billion km away from the sun. The blue colour comes from the atmosphere; the atmosphere is made out of hydrogen, helium and methane that give Neptune its blue colour. There are 8 planets in the solar system and Neptune is the farthest from the sun, it is 24 622 km in diameter, in diameter it ranks 4th largest and 3rd in mass, it's 17 times bigger than earth! Neptune is the smallest gas giant. The gravity on Neptune is similar to earth's gravity, for example if a 50 pound person was on Neptune they would weigh 60 pounds. The temperature on Neptune averages at -214 celsius, wow that's colder than the North or South Pole! That's more than 100 degrees colder than earth has ever been. Neptune has 13 satellites (or moons), the most known one is Triton, discovered October 10th 1846, then it's 2. Nereid discovered 1949, 3. Naiad discovered 1989, 4. Thalassa discovered 1989, 5. Despina discovered 1989, 6. Galatea found 1989, 7. Larissa found 1981, 8. Proteus found 1989, 9. Halimede discovered 2002, 10. Psamathe found 2003, 11. Sao discovered 2002, 12. Laomedeia found 2002, and 13. Neso found 2002. Neptune also has six very thin rings around the planet, they are made of small rocks and dust. If a human were to live on Neptune they would not survive long because of the atmosphere they wouldn't be able to breathe, you would be hurt by the intense winds and the cold temperatures would probably kill you. Also, Did you know that Neptune was named after the god of the sea, Poseidon, because of the planets blue colour! Thank you for reading my space report.
Did you know that ten tons of meteroites hit the earth every day but when they hit the earth they are the size of a grain of sand. Bill Nye knows about space and I am going to share what I learned from him. I learned that the earth's north star Polaris will change in 12 000 years and the new north star will be called Vega. Also did you know that there are billions of stars, and that stars are made up of the same things as we are, we are made of up of adams and cells just like stars. Sometimes you will see a star but it really isn't there because there is a delay in the time between you and the star. One light year is 9.5 trillion years. Light travels at 300 000 km every second. Surcumfrence is the distance around the earth is 40 00 km. A contellation is a group or stars we have given a name to help us find places.
Describe the environment of your planet versus earth
Neptune is very cold at a tempeture of -214 celcieus, while earth is much more tollarable at an extreme low of -40 c and up a high to about 35 c. Neptune is a gas giant, earth is not. Neptune`s atmoshere is made from gas and methan, so it is inhabitable for humans, while earths atmoshere is made of of oxygen. Neptune also has very high winds making it hard to stand on the planet- if you get past the toxic atmoshere first. Fun fact, Neptune has a spot simaller to Jupiters red spot buts its called the blue spot, it is a giant storm. 1. what is the age, scale and structure of the universe?
The Universe Is 13.82 Billion years old. The scale of the universe is not scalable because the universe is endless. The universe consists of many galaxies and many many atoms and voids. 2. Facts about earth: Mass; 5 972 190 000 000 000 billion kg Diameter: 12 756 km Equatorial Circumference: 40 030 km Known Moons: 1 One year on earth: 365 earth days Temperature: -88 to 58°C 3. Gravity is a force that attracts a body to the earth or any other thing that has mass (mass: a property of a physical body). When you jump up you dont float up into space because gravity pulls you down. Gravity makes the earth round. 5. Describe the position, motion and components of our solar system! the order of our solar system planets are: murcury, venus, earth, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, and neptune The sun is what gives our galaxy light and heat, the sun is also the biggest star in our galaxy our galaxy is called the milky way we live on planet earth, all the planets orbit around the sun most planets have one or more than one moon that orbit around that planet, not the sun the astroid belt is a huge belt that keeps astroids in the solar system, they also orbit around the sun along with the planets 6. Interesting facts about space: astronauts prepare to go into space by using space suits in a giant swimming pool the sun is a star on venus one day is longer than a earth year the hottest planet is not closest to the sun |
