The cause and effect of snow can change a lot of plans if you live in Vancouver. Most Vancouverites fear snow, but some enjoy it, I am going to go through the cause of snow in Vancouver and the effects of the white stuff falling from the sky. First is that when you see snow most people refuse to drive unless they have to, and those who do drive have experience or are just crazy drivers in the snow. Most people go very slow in the snow. On the other hand for people that don't drive usually love it, because we don't get it much (unless it's on the mountains) it is really nice to wake up to the winter wonderland. When snow hits it is not too busy anywhere, because nobody wants to drive and wants to keep warm at night instead of going out for dinner. Even though Vancouver has snow it normally turns slush and rain a couple hours after. Vancouver also has local mountains and there are mountains all over the area, there pretty standard but most people like skiing and it brings in a lot of tourists from all over, especially knowing that we had the 2010 winter Olympics held in province, that was huge publisity for the mountains. Snow is also vital for water supply, like last winter we did not have much snow and we had a drought in the summer time and that caused alot of problems in the summer time like wildfires, water restrictions and no summer outdoor fun without water! In conclusion snow is great or owful depending on how you look at it.
